Room 206 is moving… December 10, 2007

…almost for sure.
I have moved Room 206 over to Blogspot–not without some regrets, I’ve liked WordPress, but it just doesn’t have quite the versatility I want, at least when it comes to choosing colors and tweaking the layout. WordPress, if you will give me a way to keep this layout but change the colors, I’ll reconsider.
Anyway, for now come on over to the new 206 and see what’s up for the holidays.

Amazingly, the Shoreline Museum was not badly affected by the rain–no flooding at all. So this evening’s Art Party is on as usual. I hope to see some of you there, especially since that will mean that you and your homes are OK.

Yes, indeed. We have been having extraordinary rain here, and yesterday it invaded our basement. Not a fun day, although it did feel awfully good when we finally got ahead of it at about 3PM. Then it was just vigilant watching and switching out the piles of rags, old towels and whatever other absorbent material we could find. Spin it in the washer and put it down again. Rinse and repeat…I mean, spin and repeat.
To my friends elsewhere in the country who are probably seeing pictures of the very worst on the news, we were not part of the very worst by any means. (Yes, Golden Gardens Drive is closed until spring.) Really, we have a lot to be grateful for–it could have been so much worse, and was for neighborhoods not that far away from us.
Today I have a bit of a sore back, but it’s dry in the basement. I’ll take it.

Well, I just found out that a link to this blog was posted in a Yahoo group I belong to, so I thought I’d better get over here and put up a “Welcome”sign!

Isn’t this the coolest font? Well, it isn’t really a font. But you can generate these labels with your choice of words, and then save them as images and paste ’em in wherever you want them. You can also do this

and this

and you can do it here.
Today I am doing Internet catch-up. Blogging, uploading photos, posting to what seems like a hundred groups and replying to what seems like a million emails. And I have to get up to the local hardware store, because it’s customer appreciation day and I want my free hot dog! Actually, I think I want it now.
